Forest Park Academy Fights HungerStudents from Forest Park Academy are learning they "can" make a difference.  They are participating in the 3rd annual Canstruction to benefit Feeding America Southwest Virginia.  In the lobby of the Taubman Museum of Art, students are building a sculpture using canned food.

After throwing around plenty of ideas, the students decided to build a sculpture that spells out FPA for Forest Park Academy.  Students hope their work of art will help promote the school and its successes.

The group had twelve hours to build its sculpture.  Along the way, the students learned the process is much harder than it looks.  They had to revise their plans several times to keep the sculpture from collapsing.

Forest Park joined other schools in the area for the competition.  All of the sculptures will be on display at the Taubman until November 20.
