Welcome!
I've been teaching English to students across the world for more than 20 years and I'm very happy to be continuing on that path here at Forest Park. I started teaching at a Job Corps center in Cincinnati, Ohio and went on from there to teach in North and South Carolina, Alaska, Oregon, the Marianas Islands, Thailand and Taiwan.
This year we have a great deal of exciting stories and poems to study and discuss together in our English 9 and 10 classes where we will be using the Canvas platform for all assignments, information, and communication.
For grade 9 students, we will start the year off exploring mythology using selections from Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey, and the novel The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan. Grade 10 students will begin with exploring ideas about home and community through a series of short stories and Sandra Cisneros famous novel, The House on Mango Street.
