Ms. Dixon

Before coming to Forest Park Academy in 2022 as the Assistant Principal, Ms. Jean Dixon has served the families in Roanoke City Public Schools in various roles since 1997. Her first tenure in Roanoke City schools was as a classroom teacher at Lucy Addison Middle School for one year and then Woodrow Wilson Middle School. After twenty years of teaching Social Studies, she transitioned to the role of Teacher on Assignment at Woodrow Wilson. In 2018, she became an Assistant Principal at Lucy Addison Middle School. Ms. Dixon was named as the Dean of Students at William Fleming High School at the beginning of the 2019 school year.

Throughout her time with Roanoke City Public Schools, Ms. Dixon has honed a skill set that allows her to understand the academic, emotional, and social needs of students. Her work with students, staff, and parents at both the middle and high school levels, has allowed Ms. Dixon to be an advocate for students in and out of the school building. Ms. Dixon looks forward to integrating her love of learning and student advocacy in a non-traditional school environment.
